Swahili lessons are intense -- almost four hours a day right after breakfast. I'd like to keep learning Swahili because it's such a logical (and phonetic!) language. Except it has noun classes, which we won't be delving into much, but which look icky.
Two nights ago we all went out for Indian food. The power went out after we had ordered (I bet everyone will write about this in their blogs), so we all got a candelit dinner. (The power did come back on as we were serving ourselves from the buffet bar.) Last night we went out for Ethiopian food (except for Autrey, who was sleeping off jetlag still).
I've got to walk to the Ya Ya mall today after history class to buy notecards so I can make Swahili flashcards. You wouldn't believe how much vocab we've gotten in three days of classes. I'm also on a quest for eyedroppers so I can actually use my Aqua Mira (water treatment stuff), which didn't come with its own eyedropper.
There is a cat and one kitten here that hang out in pretty much one spot all the time. We like to play with them between class. Photos later.
Tomorrow we meet our homestay families. I'm kinda nervous! But excited too.

dude, sounds hardcore. Swahili is random, to a western-minded thinker like me. :)
have an amazing time, and hope your homestay is amazing. yay.

noun classes sound scary. I hope they don't bite.
